Noko Woi sounds like a tree with roots made of percussion and bass grooves, a trunk of keyboards and synths and branches with guitars strings covered by soft green leaves of voice.
In 2012, while they were all full of sawdust and itchy acoustic material, the Noko Woi members were finally putting together their audiovisual lab in Barcelona. A collection of recycled wood from the “bulky trash days”, some proper acoustic materials and many DIY construction videos were the real starting point of this album.Noko Woi means “to listen around” in Warao, a Venezuelan native language. This is what this album is about, an attempt to put together different sources of inspiration: places where we come from, places where we are, people that we’ve met, people that we are, ideas that people said, ideas that we found.Listen around.
